A Nigerian Pastor has been arrested for unlawfully being in possession of a human skull.
The 45 years old, Michael Bassey of United Evangelical Church was arrested after complaints by some of his church members.
According to the police Commissioner of Cross River State, Mr Sikiru Akande, the man of the cloth was arrested after numerous complaints were lodged against him by a concerned worshiper.
“The suspect was arrested with the human skull tied with the complainant’s photo and carved image with a red piece of clothe.“Investigations are still ongoing and the suspect will be charged in court,” said the police commissioner.
The suspect however maintained innocence saying that he was not involved in any cult.
“I don’t know anything about this skull. I am as innocent as a baby and the charges against me are just meant to defame me,” he said.
