Panic engulfed Ndaragu hamlet in Njoro, Nakuru County, after a middle-aged woman fell ill and regurgitated a deceased rat, triggering a wave of fear among the residents.
The unsettling incident occurred on Wednesday when the woman, a mother of four, had been suffering from illness for over a week. She described feeling increasingly uneasy around midnight and eventually started vomiting.
Upon learning about the distressing occurrence, the villagers, led by her father and the local elder, shared their concerns with journalists who were present at the woman’s residence. They speculated that someone who had publicly disagreed with her might be responsible for this unusual and alarming event.
After the incident, the woman returned to bed and was still asleep when the news spread throughout the village. The woman’s father informed the neighbors, prompting them to gather in the morning and visit the village to witness the situation firsthand.
In response to this unsettling event, the village elders have decided to convene and conduct a cleansing ritual, aiming to restore a sense of harmony and calm to the community.
