Popular political commentator Nuru Okanga has revealed that he has received Ksh 700,000 from Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi. This financial aid comes after Sudi’s pledge during a live interview on the Oga Obinna Show, where he promised Okanga Ksh 1.3 million to help establish several businesses.
In a media statement, Okanga confirmed the receipt of the funds and expressed his gratitude. “I can confirm that Ksh 700,000 has been deposited into my bank account by Oscar Sudi,” he said. Following this, Okanga has traveled to his village to purchase construction materials as he begins to put his business plans into action.
During the interview, Sudi had vowed to support Okanga after learning about his difficult living conditions. Sudi’s support includes funding for a car wash, a posho mill, and a salon for Okanga’s wife, all aimed at improving the family’s financial situation. Additionally, Sudi committed to purchasing a three-bedroom house for Okanga under the Affordable Housing Programme and advised him to select a home in Nairobi.
Initially, Okanga had requested Ksh 300,000 to start a salon for his wife but later suggested that Ksh 1 million would greatly enhance his prospects. Sudi responded with a larger amount to support a variety of business initiatives.
Despite his enthusiasm about the financial support, Okanga has encountered some skepticism regarding the management of multiple ventures. Both Sudi and Oga Obinna advised him to start with fewer businesses to ensure better management and stability. They recommended focusing first on the car wash and posho mill before expanding into other areas.
Okanga has taken this advice to heart but remains hopeful about his plans. He aims to use the funds to invest in the posho mill, establish a car yard, a kiosk, and a furniture shop in his rural home, alongside setting up the salon for his wife.
“I am determined to set up these businesses and achieve financial stability,” Okanga stated confidently.
