Gospel musician and philanthropist Karangu Muraya has candidly opened up about the deep-rooted struggles in his marriage to his wife, Triza. In a heartfelt Facebook Live session, Muraya revealed that their relationship had been troubled for years, often marked by extended periods of silence and emotional distance.
He shared that despite his efforts—including involving close friends to help mediate—their home remained a place of tension rather than peace. Muraya described how Triza’s demeanor would shift whenever he was around. According to him, she appeared cheerful in his absence but would become withdrawn upon his return.
These emotional disconnects eventually took a toll on his mental health. Muraya confessed to battling suicidal thoughts as the stress from their strained marriage weighed heavily on him. He also disclosed that the turmoil at home contributed to serious health problems, including diabetes and high blood pressure.
Feeling emotionally drained and concerned for the well-being of their three children, Muraya made the difficult decision to leave their matrimonial home. He explained that the choice was not about abandoning his marriage, but rather an attempt to restore stability for his family and prioritize his own well-being.
After leaving, Muraya found solace in a new relationship with Carol Kim, whom he has been dating since 2022. He described their bond as peaceful and understanding, a stark contrast to the chaos he had experienced before.
“When I left, I found peace. We have never fought,” he said. “I think it’s because she understands my pain, my anger, and my weaknesses.”
