Blessing Gatwiri has spent most of her life in search of answers about her mother — a woman she knows only by name: Purity Nkatha. According to Blessing, she was abandoned in Meru when she was just a month old, and she has lived with that void ever since.
Now a young adult, Gatwiri has turned to the public for help. She recently shared her story on social media, accompanied by a photo originally posted by Muthoni Kariuki on Facebook. Her hope is that someone out there might recognize the name or offer any information about her mother’s whereabouts.
Currently living with her father, Gatwiri says the situation at home has become unbearable due to alleged mistreatment. “I don’t want to go back to my father’s house. I just want peace,” she said in an emotional message.
Her appeal is not fueled by resentment but by a deep desire to find her roots. She says she holds no anger toward her mother — only hope for a reunion and the chance to finally understand her own story.
