Skylla Akinyi, now a 36-year-old woman from Kisumu tried to get married to Kevin Okumu but
parted ways when her parents put a stop to the marriage have finally spoken on their reunion
after thirteen years of being apart.
Skylla disclosed that she first met the love of her life while in Maseno University where she was
first approached by Kevin. She revealed that she agreed Kevin’s request of becoming lovers and
fall for each other before he proposed to get her hand for marriage.
They engaged to marriage at their early twenties and thirty’s respectively. Upon their
engagement, they planned to begin a new life together as a husband and wife. But at 23 years
old, Skylla’s parents were against the marriage and never permitted her to get married to Kevin
who was at his early 30s.
She said after parents denying her s chance to get married, she considered to die rather than
living because she had devoted her heart to one Kevin as she saw a bright marriage with him.
She was living in denial as she recalled how she was treated by Kevin while in university as she
missed all the moments spent together before her parents made them to part ways.
All along, Skylla never loved any man since she was forced to marry the love of her life. And
opted that she will reunite with Kevin at one particular time. Ten years later, she met her
former friend who asked her about her relationship with Kevin. After she narrated the story to
