A Murang’a man is currently receiving treatment at a Nairobi Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after a paternity test showed that two kids he thought were his are actually someone else’s.
The man, Paul Kamau Kariuki, 55, is said to have gone comatose after the results came in on Christmas eve.
His sister, Mary Wambui speaking to our reporter revealed that she had long suspected that Paul’s wife was adulterous but kept mum to prevent being labeled as a home wrecker.
She said that Paul had secretly done the paternity test without his wife’s knowledge.
“I talked to my brother and in fact, some of his friend had also noticed the same. So he decided to secretly do the DNA and when the results came in, he called his wife and two close friends I included,” Mary said.
“The results showed that my brother was not the father and thats when he collapsed and we rushed him to the hospital,” she continued explaining.
Mary stated that the kids are not aware and the decision to make them know will be up to Paul once he gets out of comma.
“The children don’t know anything and Paul will be the one to make the decision of whether to or not to tell them,” she said.
The wife refused to grant us audience by the time of publishing this article.
