Muranga Illicit Brewers Hide Chang’aa In Church-(SHOCK)

Police have arrested three male suspects who were involved in illicit chang’aa business and had they had hidden 75 liters of it in a church compound in Murang’a to avoid police detection.

As indicated by region police commander Cleophas Juma, officers tracked down the five suspects at Gikindu village while busy at work distilling the brew. Another group was entrusted with shipping the finished product to the nearby Presbyterian Church of East Africa.

“We managed to arrest the distillers as well as the narcotics dealers. But the transporting team escaped. We have the suspects at Maragua Police Station…they will be charged accordingly,” he said.

Prior, police had raided Gikomora village and seized 101 stones of bhang from two female suspects and Sh2,340 they had as proceeds of the illicit business. The officers further arrestef two suspects possessing 700 grams of bhang that was in school bags. The suspects were additionally said to be in school uniform despite not being students.

“Their purpose was to pass as secondary school children to avoid detection but our intelligence was able to identify them and gave the tip to us. We were able to pick them up and they will be charged in court,” he said.
