Renowned City Lawyer, Danstan Omari has downplayed the recent appointment of Mathira Member of Parliament, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua as Ruto’s running mate. The vocal MP was chosen at the expense of Tharaka Nithi Senator, Kithure Kindiki who came second in the list.

Hon. Rigathi Gachagua has been a key mobilizer for the Deputy President in Mt. Kenya region using his vast resources and experience in popularizing UDA Political Party. The Mathira MP is however facing several corruption charges in Kenyan Courts which is seen as a set back to Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Lawyer Danstan Omari while speaking to Citizen TV News reinstated that William Ruto made a huge mistake by choosing Hon. Gachagua as his running mate. According to the Prominent Lawyer, Gachagua wasn’t a popular candidate among Kenyans and leaders. He has further stated that Ruto ignored Senator Kithure Kindiki who had the biggest support among Kenyans and leaders.
