Miss Morgan talks on depression, alcohol addiction among former Tahidi High cast

Several former Tahidi High actors have opened up about their struggles with alcoholism and depression after leaving the popular show. Among them is Angel Waruinge, famously known as Miss Morgan, who shared her experience during an interview on Radio Jambo with Massawe Japanni.

Angel revealed that many cast members struggled with addiction, partly due to having fame, money, and free time. She urged Kenyans not to single out Tahidi High actors, saying many others face similar challenges but have not spoken out.

“People should stop targeting us. Tahidi High was one of the top shows in 2005 and 2006. Alcohol came in as a form of fun,” she said.

Angel admitted that her fame and inability to separate her personal identity from her TV character affected her deeply. “I’m not Miss Morgan. I’m Angel Waruinge. Those are two very different people,” she said.

She also discussed her struggle with body image, saying her weight affected her confidence and job opportunities. “Being plus-size with a babyface limited my chances,” she added.
