Man stopped from burying His wife after dumping her for neighbour’s daughter

A deeply emotional incident has unfolded in Itezi Ward, Mbeya City, Tanzania, where a man named Seleman Lukama was stopped by villagers from participating in the burial of his late wife, Anna Anosisye Bukuku.

According to reports by Global TV Online, Seleman had allegedly abandoned his wife and six children over a decade ago, choosing instead to live with another woman in Chunya District. The villagers, who considered the deceased as a sister, were heartbroken and angry. They claimed that despite Seleman being capable, he provided no support to his family during that time.

“She worked hard alone to care for the children while he lived elsewhere. It’s painful to witness this,” said a local representative.

Tension rose when Seleman returned to attend the burial. Community members demanded that the house Anna and the children lived in should be left to the kids permanently, citing fears for their future.

In a humbling moment, Seleman went down on his knees, asking for forgiveness from the villagers. But many remained firm in their stance, with some residents suggesting that he should not return to the area for his own safety.

“We don’t want the children to suffer. The community will take care of the burial. Let him leave the matter to those who remained by her side,” another resident added.

Social media users have also reacted to the story with a mix of sympathy for the children and criticism of Seleman’s actions. Many have praised the community for standing up to what they believe was a long-standing case of neglect.

This story has touched the hearts of many, shining a light on the power of community and the deep emotional bonds that tie families together.
