Outspoken Mt. Kenya politician Mike Makarina has launched a scathing attack on former President Uhuru Kenyatta, accusing him of interfering in current political affairs despite completing his two constitutional terms in office.
In a fiery statement, Makarina said, “Wewe Uhuru tulikupea miaka kumi na ukawacha Ruto akachukuwa kiti, sasa enda nyumbani na unyamaze. Baba yako aliiba mashamba na wewe ukaiba pesa mingi sana ukiwa President. Enda ukule hiyo pesa wachana na siasa! Sisi ndio serikali!”
The remarks, which have since gone viral online, reflect growing tensions between leaders allied to President William Ruto and the former Head of State. Makarina accused Uhuru of hypocrisy, claiming that he should retire peacefully and allow the current government to lead without interference.
Political analysts say Makarina’s outburst mirrors frustrations among Kenya Kwanza supporters who believe Uhuru still wields influence in Mount Kenya politics and could be silently backing opposition movements.
Makarina, known for his bold and controversial statements, further emphasized that the Kenya Kwanza administration is now fully in charge, and that the former president should respect the leadership transition and focus on his private life.
