Lovers Sentenced to Six-Month Jail Term or Fine of Ksh20,000 For Making Out in the Middle of Thika Road

Tabby Ndung’u, a 26-year-old woman, has been sentenced to a six-month jail term and an alternative fine of Ksh20,000 for causing a disturbance and obstructing traffic on Thika Road in Roysambu. The incident occurred when she and her companion were caught making out in the middle of the road, disrupting the flow of traffic.

When police officers approached the couple to inquire about the obstruction, they found Ndung’u in a compromising position with her companion inside the car. Despite being asked to continue driving, the couple became rude and hostile towards the officers. Ndung’u went as far as to shout at the officers, “shoot at me!”

As a result of her behavior, Ndung’u was arrested and taken to Kasarani police station. She pleaded guilty to her actions when she appeared before Makadara law on January 24th.

The judge’s verdict was based on the traffic act and penal code, which states that anyone who leaves a vehicle on a road in a manner that causes or is likely to cause danger to others shall be guilty of an offence and liable for a fine of up to Ksh50,000 or a jail term of up to one year. Additionally, Ndung’u was also charged with insulting police officers.
