List of Names Mentioned for CS Positions in President Ruto’s Government

President William Ruto’s government is now getting down to the business of fulfilling electoral promises as it emerges that the president is putting final touches on the Cabinet that will play a crucial role in his administration.

As President William Ruto prepares to unveil the names for his cabinet to the public, it has emerged that several considerations will be put into play which include the proximity, campaign promises, regional balance, gender balance, age, administrative continuity as well as 2027 politics. Various names have been mentioned for Cabinet Secretary positions.

Former Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir who is currently serving as Ruto’s Chief of Staff is being mentioned as a possible pick for Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of Public Service, a function currently held by Joseph Kinyua.

Former Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba who is currently serving as advisor on international relations in Kenya Kwanza has been mentioned for a Cabinet job. Ababu Namwamba by virtue of his predisposition to international relations docket is slated for Foreign Affairs ministry which is currently headed by Raychelle Omamo.
