What happened to Linda Ogutu?
Perhaps with good reason, tongues were wagging when Linda Ogutu abruptly quit KTN. The fnews anchor, who was once KTN’s face, took a break from the screen to lead the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) as a Secretariat.
However, it is known that Ms Ogutu was compelled to leave by Standard Group, the company that owns KTN because her full-time assignment to the FKF Secretariat role interfered with her ability to continue working as a journalist and news anchor.
As part of its efforts to cut costs, Standard Group saw an opportunity the highly paid and senior anchor. To hire younger, less expensive talent, the corporation recently retired experienced employees. When the ego wars between KTN and NTV were at their peak, Linda Ogutu was hired by NTV and paid six figures.

Contrary to what the publications said, the former news anchor never did odd jobs to supplement her income. Recently, in an interview with a well-known digital news outlet, she rejected the accusations and called them inaccurate.
When the journalist posted images of herself in construction gear in January 2023, it startled online users. Wearing a yellow helmet and a reflector, Linda Ogutu was taking selfies in what appeared to be a car. Excavators were stopped while others were working, and in other pictures she uploaded, she was holding a book in what appeared to be dry land in Kwale with a drying river.

On August 21, 2013, Linda’s husband was taken into custody when cops discovered numerous expensive vehicles inside his home and linked him to a car theft ring.
Later, it became clear that Dennis Mombo was involved in a an enterprise akin to Shylock, lending money to people and using their automobiles as security.

Ogutu’s father succumbed to lung cancer at the Meridian Hospital in Nairobi West.
