KRA Notice: Taxman to destroy unclaimed sex toys, artificial male organs

The Kenya Revenue Authority’s Customs and Border Control Department is set to dispose of a range of imported goods that have not been collected. The department has issued a warning notice, stating that the goods must be collected by their respective owners within 30 days. This notice was published in a gazette on April 20, 2023.

These uncollected goods are currently stored in KRA warehouses located in Eldoret, Nakuru, Lodwar, Lokichoggio, and Suam. The assortment of items includes sex toys, sex creams, shisha products, and toy guns, among others.

Specifically, the Eldoret warehouse holds various alcoholic drinks, shisha products, bulbs, bed sheets, and plant seeds, which are all slated for destruction.

Likewise, at the Lodwar customs warehouse, crates of beer, kilograms of powdered milk, and numerous bags of sugar will be discarded.

Additionally, the list of items earmarked for disposal includes 18 empty crates of Senator beer, a Toyota Hilux, a Mitsubishi Colt, 100 cartons of Supermatch cigarettes, as well as radio communication equipment.

Finally, the Suam go-down contains 26 bags of sugar that will also be disposed of by the KRA.
