Kenyan Musician and Songwriter BaMdogo: “Bahati Never Paid me Ksh60,000 After Writing his Hitsong.”

Bamdogo, a talented songwriter, has recently exposed Kenyan singer Bahati and other artists for failing to fulfill their promises and acknowledge him as the writer of their songs. In an interview with SPM Buzz, Bamdogo expressed his bitter experience dealing with renowned artists who neither pay him nor give him the recognition he deserves.

Bamdogo’s prowess in songwriting dates back to the era when Calif Records dominated the airwaves. Even while he was still in high school, Bamdogo penned the popular song “Genge Love” by Nonini and LadyBee. He continued to write songs for prominent artists such as Bahati, Mr Seed, Ringtone, Guardian Angel, and B Classic. Unfortunately, despite the immense success of these songs, Bamdogo never received any form of payment from the artists.

On one occasion, Bahati had agreed to compensate Bamdogo with Ksh60,000 for his songwriting efforts. However, once the song gained significant popularity, Bahati failed to honor their agreement and neglected to credit Bamdogo as the writer.

Bamdogo expressed his frustration, highlighting how some artists fabricate stories in interviews about being divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit during their sleep to create their lyrics. Driven by this disappointment, Bamdogo decided to venture into recording his own songs.

As a result, Bamdogo has recently released a new song titled ‘Anakutumia,’ which is now available on his YouTube channel. We extend our best wishes to him in his music career, hoping for nothing but success in his endeavors.
