A Kenyan woman from Kiambu County has shared a disturbing account of the difficulties she says she is facing while working in Saudi Arabia.
In a video seen on TikTok on Wednesday and shared by Murang’a Newspaper, the woman, identified as Wambui, narrated the ordeal she claims began after a fallout with her employer.
According to Wambui, she has been locked inside a dark room since Sunday evening and does not understand why she was allegedly subjected to the treatment.
She claimed that she had not done anything wrong to her employer and was going about her normal duties before the incident happened.
Wambui said her boss left the house on Sunday morning while everything appeared normal.
However, she alleged that things changed when he returned later in the day.
According to her account, the employer allegedly slapped her before pushing her into the dark room. She said she was not given an opportunity to ask why she was being assaulted or why she was being locked inside the room.
The Kenyan woman further claimed that she had not been given food for three days, leaving her worried about her safety and well-being.
In the emotional video, Wambui appealed to the Kenyan government and other relevant authorities to intervene and help her get out of the situation.
She also called for assistance in ensuring that she remains safe and is eventually brought back home to Kenya.
Her account has sparked concern among Kenyans online, with many calling for urgent intervention to establish her whereabouts and ensure her safety.
