“I Want to Live the Life,” actor John Cena Explains Why He Chose to Not Have Children.”

John Cena, the renowned American actor and professional wrestler, recently shared his perspective on choosing not to have children. In a candid conversation on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, which aired on Wednesday, August 21, Cena, now 47, opened up about his personal decision to remain child-free.

“I don’t want them,” Cena stated frankly. He explained that his curiosity about life and his awareness of the significant commitment parenting requires have influenced his choice. “My biggest fear is, as someone who’s driven – many times stubborn, and selfish – I try to approach the world with kindness and curiosity. But I don’t think I’m personally ready, nor will I ever be, to invest the time it needs to be a great parent because I want to live life for all it is. And I still have a lot to do. And I still want to do a lot. I have a wonderful partner I do it with. We’ve had open conversations about this. We share the same values,” he explained.

The actor, known for his role in “Jackpot!”, acknowledged that discussing his decision not to have children can be challenging. “It’s a tough subject,” he said, adding that it often leads to judgment from others. “It immediately puts you in a category,” Cena remarked, noting how people tend to form opinions quickly.

Cena married his second wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, in October 2020. The couple met while working on the 2019 film “Playing with Fire,” and after a year and a half of dating, they quietly tied the knot.
