“I used my millions to campaign for Uhuru, now they are against me because am supporting Ruto”- Rigathi Gachagua Now Says.

The Mathira MP has sensationaly claimed that he used his millions to campaign for president Uhuru in the past two general elections.

Rigathi who was in an interview with a local daily said that he was Uhuru’s personal assistant in 2002 adding that that is how their friendship began.

“When President Uhuru Kenyatta took me to be his assistant in 2002, he found me doing business, no one was having issues with me. In 2013 I footed transports expenses for his campaign and nobody had any questions to ask me. In 2017, in the repeat poll, I told President Uhuru Kenyatta to leave Nyeri for me and I used my money for the campaign, nobody had an issue with me,” Gachagua said.

“I used my millions to hire vehicles and put billboards just to campaign for President Uhuru and nobody had issues with. My woes are as a result of my undying support for Deputy President William Ruto,” he claimed.

“I want to tell Kenyans that doing business is not a crime. Chinese are doing business with the government worth Ksh40 billion. French people are building expressways worth Ksh62 billion, nobody is saying they are criminals. Therefore, when Gachagua does business, because he is an African, it should not be a problem,” he added.

This comes in the wake of claims that the government is on charm offensive in blocking him from launching and inspecting various projects.
