The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has reminded students that they do not need to visit its offices to find out the progress of their loan applications.
Students can track their applications through the HELB online portal, mobile application or by dialling *642# on their phones.
Through the HELB portal, applicants can log into their accounts and view information about their loan applications, allocations and disbursements.
Students who prefer using their mobile phones can dial *642# and follow the instructions provided to check their application status.
The HELB mobile application also allows users to access loan information and monitor application and disbursement details.
The update comes as HELB continues processing applications for various education financing programmes for students and other learners pursuing higher education.
For students waiting for funding, the digital tracking options provide a convenient way to establish whether an application is still being processed or has progressed to the next stage.
HELB has encouraged applicants to make use of the available digital platforms to stay updated instead of relying solely on physical visits to its offices.
Students can therefore monitor their loan applications from their phones and receive updates without travelling to HELB offices.
