During a radio interview with Massawe Japanni, Njoro, a comedian, shared that his extravagant lifestyle of partying and drinking had resulted in a financial deficit of Sh. 4 million. He had earned Sh. 1.3 million on each of his three trips to the US but spent it all on lavish parties without considering the future.
According to Njoro, his problems escalated when his father was diagnosed with stomach cancer. In October, November, and December of 2019, he was in such a terrible mental state that he tried to drive his car off a cliff in the Rift Valley viewpoint area. Fortunately, a truck driver saw him and rescued him by attaching a towing chain to his vehicle. Despite attempting to drive the car off the cliff several times, he failed to do so.
Njoro also confessed to taking rat poison and cutting his wrists during two other suicide attempts. He pleaded for assistance in accessing therapy and begged for job opportunities, stating that he was eager and prepared to take on any work.
Fortunately, in 2021, Njoro secured a new job with Flamingo Radio after completing rehabilitation. This was a significant breakthrough for a talented comedian who had been struggling with depression and personal issues for several months.
