During a joyous occasion unfolding in Ndeiya, Kiambu County, the gospel artist Muigai Wa Njoroge is participating in a culturally significant tradition as he fulfills the dowry customs for his second wife, Queen Stacey.
This traditional ceremony, referred to as “ruracio” in the Kikuyu culture, is currently in progress, capturing attention and curiosity, especially given the notable absence of Muigai’s first wife.
Muigai’s decision to marry Queen Stacey as his second wife has prompted discussions, driven by his intention to ensure a stable environment for his children.
He stated, “I couldn’t let the mother of my children face uncertainties while taking care of my kids. I have opted for a polygamous marriage for a specific purpose.” Nevertheless, the nonattendance of his first wife, Njeri wa Muigai, at the event gives rise to inquiries about the dynamics within their polygamous relationship.
Making a grand entrance in a sleek gray Lexus at 3:00 pm, Muigai arrived in style. Accompanied by his groomsmen dressed in white shirts and black trousers, he led an exuberant dance as they entered the venue.
Muigai’s attire showcased an all-white ensemble, complemented by a sleeveless coat embellished with touches of gold and snowy tones. Known for his artistic flair, segments from the ruracio ceremony are even slated to appear in his upcoming music video.
Overseeing the event with energy and enthusiasm is the renowned Kikuyu music artist Karangu wa Muraya. Distinguished guests in attendance include Kiambu Senator Karungo Wa Thangwa, media personality Njogu Wa Njoroge, and comedian Desagu.
