Dorcus Kagendo’s life took a sudden turn for the worse, going from a position of wealth to one of poverty. Although this is not a desirable situation, it is one that can happen to anyone.
Originally from the Central Province of Kenya, Kagendo was a bright and driven young woman who, after completing her education, began working for NGOs and reputable businesses. She excelled in her career, earning a good salary, and even managed to purchase two cars. She was successful in multiple business ventures and invested in real estate, leading to a life of financial comfort.
Despite her baby daddy leaving her, Kagendo had no issues supporting her child. She even received an opportunity to work in Saudi Arabia, which promised higher pay than she had ever earned before.
However, once she arrived in Saudi Arabia, her life took a turn for the worse. She fell ill, suffering from kidney failure and cancer, which necessitated her return to Kenya. To cover her medical expenses, Kagendo was forced to sell all her belongings, leaving her with nothing. Her health continued to deteriorate, and she eventually resorted to begging for money and food from strangers.
Although her friends have tried to help her, her condition is so dire that even at stage four of her illness, she is unable to support herself. Kagendo is now pleading with the kindness of others for assistance.
We hope that Kagendo’s situation improves, and that she makes a swift recovery. Her story is a reminder of how unpredictable life can be, and how quickly one’s fortunes can change.
