Life can be extremely challenging when you face years of struggle and unemployment. My name is Anita, and I live in Bwaise, Uganda. For many years, I had been unable to find stable work. I tried everything I could think of—applying for jobs online, visiting offices in person, asking friends and family for opportunities—but nothing seemed to work. Month after month, I remained unemployed, struggling to pay rent, provide for myself, and survive in a city that seemed full of opportunities for everyone else but me.
The poverty and constant rejection took a toll on my mental and emotional health. I would often cry myself to sleep, feeling hopeless and frustrated. Every time I saw someone succeed or hear about someone getting a job, I wondered why it was so hard for me. Friends and family offered advice, but nothing seemed to change my situation.
