President Kenyatta yesterday, May 31, launched the Kenya Shipyards and later layed a stone foundation at the MV Uhuru 2 which is the first ship to be built in Kisumu.
Kenyatta praised the work done by the KDF soldiers who are overseeing various government projects in the county.
It is here that a seemingly angry Uhuru castigated leaders who have been lanting with allegations that he has militarized the nation.
“People are going to courts to complain about the military (referencing the Kenya Meat Commission case), Are the soldiers not Kenyans?” the President posed.
“See the work they’ve done here, about 300 youths will now get jobs. Those protesting let them continue protesting. If you want to incite Kenyans, you’ll insight them when am gone. For us we will continue working,”Uhuru shot at his critics.
The country is celebrating its 58th madaraka day today, June 1, with the even being hosted in Kisumu.Among the invited guests is Burundian President, Evariste Ndiyashimiye.
