Eight kids were discovered lifeless inside a parked vehicle at 18 Adelayo street, Jah Michael bus stop, along Badagry Expressway, Lagos State on Saturday, December four.
It is said that the youngsters afedd four to 6 years, had entered the parked Lexus SUV automobile to play, mistakenly locked themselves and in the end suffocated to death.
The car is said to have been parked in front of the proprietor’s residence.Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the incident stated that the children’s bodies had been recovered and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital’s morgue for post-mortem.
“The eight youngsters had been said to have mistakenly locked themselves in an deserted vehicle while playing. Their bodies were recovered and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital’s morgue for autopsy with the intention to decide the actual cause of demise,” the PPRO said.
“Notwithstanding the record made to the Police, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a thorough and speedy research into the circumstances surrounding their demise. The CP also commiserates with the families of the sufferers.” he stated.
