‘Drama as Businessman, Son Caught Loading Stolen Cows Into Car, Beaten by Mob & Vehicle Set on Fire

A businessman and his son are receiving treatment at Ol Kalou Hospital in Nyandarua County after being attacked by a mob over allegations of livestock theft.

The incident occurred at Tumaini Centre, where the two were reportedly spotted attempting to load three cows into a pickup truck. The animals were allegedly stolen from Kagunda Farm, a nearby dairy property.

Witnesses said residents became suspicious after noticing the cows being moved under unclear circumstances. Within minutes, a crowd had gathered and accused the pair of theft.

Tension quickly escalated as angry residents confronted the businessman and his son. Attempts to calm the situation failed, and the mob reportedly beat the two before police arrived. The victims were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

During the chaos, the mob set the pickup truck ablaze, destroying the vehicle and leaving only charred remains at the roadside.

Police have launched investigations into the matter. Residents expressed frustration over what they described as a surge in livestock theft and blamed delayed police response for taking the law into their own hands.

Authorities have urged the public to report suspected crimes to police instead of resorting to violence.
