Details Emerge Following the Death of KBC Actor Makokha’s Wife

The Kenyan entertainment community is currently shrouded in grief following the passing of Purity Wambui, the beloved wife of veteran actor Matayo Keya, known to many by his stage persona, Alphonse Makacha Makokha.

Makokha, renowned for his portrayal of ‘Babyface’ in the cherished TV series “Vioja Mahakamani” on KBC Channel 1, now confronts a personal tragedy that has left both his admirers and colleagues deeply saddened.

The heartbreaking news was conveyed by Ondiek Nyuka Kwota, a close friend and associate of Makokha, who painted a poignant picture of Wambui as a gentle and compassionate soul whose presence left an indelible mark on all those she encountered.

“To our dear friends and devoted fans, it is with heavy hearts that we share the grievous loss of Purity Wambui, the cherished wife of Makokha Makacha. She was an extraordinary woman whose kindness and warmth touched numerous lives,” Ondiek expressed in a heartfelt announcement.

Ondiek also conveyed Makokha’s profound appreciation for the outpouring of support and affection they have received during this trying period.

A close source to the family disclosed that Wambui had been undergoing treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital for a considerable duration before her passing on Saturday, June 1.

Despite his demanding schedule, Makokha made regular visits to her bedside, fervently hoping and praying for her recovery.
