Comparison Between NTV And Citizen TV On 2:00pm Update On Provisional Presidential Results

The IEBC led by Chairman Wafula Chebukati is working around the clock to tally presidential results immediately after the voting exercise came to a halt at exactly 5:00pm in many polling stations across the country on 9th of August.

Both the ODM leader Raila Odinga and his big rival DP William Ruto have maintained silence on the ongoing exercise with the Azimio and UDA bloggers dominating social media with unverified claims on who will win the presidential seat. Media houses have also been giving updates to Kenyans causing confusion due to big disparities in the projected votes. However, Mr. Chebukati claimed that the IEBC will provide a final update after the exercise is complete.

According to the 6:00am Citizen TV updates on the provisional presidential candidates results, the UDA boss William Ruto was leading with 5,184,711 votes equivalent to 50.15% of the votes. The Azimio leader Raila Odinga came second with 5,012,859 accounting for 48.48% of the votes. The media house had at the time managed to give results for over 10 million votes cast.

According to NTV results which were a bit different, the ODM leader Raila Odinga was leading with 5,098,800 votes (51.29%) as William Ruto trailed closely behind with 4,774,965 votes (48.03%).
