Approximately 40 individuals residing in Chegilet village within Keiyo North constituency, Elgeyo Marakwet County, found themselves hospitalized at an Iten hospital subsequent to the consumption of milk contaminated with harmful substances.
Among these individuals, 20 were discharged post-treatment, while the remainder are currently receiving medical care within the facility.
Michael Kibiwot, the County Executive Committee (CEC) member responsible for health in Elgeyo Marakwet County, officially confirmed the incident.
In an interview with TV47, Kibiwot delineated that those affected comprised 13 children, 7 women, and 18 men.
