Azziad Nasenya, the popular TikTok personality, made headlines recently after an incident during an interview with Radio Maisha’s Mwende Macharia. During the interview, Azziad walked out after being asked a question she had requested not to be brought up.
Azziad, known for her viral TikTok dance videos, had recently been appointed as a member of the Creative Technical Committee, alongside well-known personalities such as Jimmi Gathu, Kate Actress, and Wahu Kagwi. However, the focus of the interview was not on her involvement in the committee.
It has been reported that Azziad had specifically asked Mwende and the Radio Maisha team not to inquire about Talanta Hela, a topic she wished to avoid. Despite her request, Mwende, as a journalist, felt obliged to address the matter.
When Mwende broached the subject, Azziad tersely responded with a “No comment” before abruptly leaving the interview. TikTok users who were watching the live interview captured the incident, and it quickly went viral on various social media platforms.
Mwende defended her decision to ask the question, stating that it was her responsibility as a journalist to address relevant topics. She believed that it was not disrespectful to inquire about Talanta Hela, especially considering that they had already concluded discussions on other matters.
In a statement, Mwende expressed, “That is her own problem. She’s being childish… she said ‘no comment.’ We had finished the questions. Actually, we had an agreement… does she want us to make her trend? You see, as a journalist, if I hadn’t asked that question, the interview would have been meaningless.”
