CCTV Footage Shows Behind-the-Scenes Details That Led to the Deadly Murder of Pastor Kanyari’s Sister, Starlet Wahu

Police from the Industrial Area Police Station have arrested a middle-aged man in connection with the brutal murder of a 24-year-old woman in a South B, Nairobi Airbnb apartment. The victim, identified as Starlet Wahu, a social media influencer, was seen with the suspect on CCTV footage on the night of the tragic incident.

The unsettling footage shows Wahu, elegantly dressed in a short red dress, walking alongside the man from the apartment’s lift, seemingly entering the premises willingly. However, the events that unfolded in the subsequent hours turned an ordinary night into a horrifying scene.

The following day, police received a distress call alerting them to a potential murder at the apartment. Upon arrival, they discovered a grim sight – the apartment had been locked from the outside, prompting them to break in. Inside, they found Wahu’s lifeless body in a pool of blood in the sitting room area.

Police Commander Judith Nyongesa of Makadara provided details, stating, “We found the woman had bled to death. The victim suffered a quick death.” Examination of the victim’s body revealed bruises and stab wounds around the thighs, indicating a desperate attempt to seek help that tragically ended near the apartment’s entrance.

As investigators secured the crime scene, preliminary findings indicated that the pair had rented the apartment for what seemed to be a night out. Recovered items included an HIV testing kit with negative results, used condoms, the victim’s clothes, a mobile phone, alcohol, and a knife believed to be the murder weapon.

Commander Nyongesa emphasized, “The case is still ongoing. We want to find out the motive behind the gruesome murder.” Detectives traced the suspect’s mobile phone to a local hospital in Nairobi, where he was undergoing treatment for a stab wound. The suspect has since been taken into custody as authorities diligently work to uncover the motive behind this tragic and heinous act.
