According to multiple sources – promoters, artistes and agencies – that we spoke to, the Joyce wa mama is the solo mugithi female artiste charging the highest performance fees for a club show.
Just like samidoh, joyce wa mama prefers to do a live band performance instead of a playback.
But joyce wa mama performance fee is negotiable, though that would depend on other factors.
“If, for instance, she is in partnership with a corporate, then she will not charge such a premium to such a client. There will always be a tailored rate which is always much, much lower and could come down to up to Sh600,000, depending on the kind of partnerships,” a source explained.
“joyce wa mama will take anything between 150,000-350,000 for shows The rates may shoot depending on demand but that’s basically his flat rate charges,” the source confided.
