Police in Nairobi are probing a chilling case in which a former police officer is accused of killing his wife in their home at Kware, Pipeline Estate, Embakasi.
The victim, 27-year-old Susan Nabwire, was reportedly attacked in the middle of the night in the presence of her child and a househelp.
According to investigators, the couple had been married for five years but had constant quarrels.
On the fateful night, the suspect, identified as Cyprian, allegedly confronted his wife after accusing her of infidelity.
It is reported that during the heated exchange, the suspect grabbed his wife’s phone and demanded her secret passwords and Mpesa PIN.
Police say that at around 3am, he went to the bathroom, armed himself with an axe, and struck Susan several times.
Witnesses further revealed that the man strangled his wife with a rope and threatened the househelp, who was left traumatized.
Susan’s young child is said to have watched helplessly as the tragedy unfolded.
After committing the crime, the suspect allegedly locked the house with a padlock and fled, but police later managed to arrest him.
The brutal killing has left Susan’s family in deep pain as they demand justice. Neighbors described her as a hardworking woman who operated an Mpesa shop at Machakos Country Bus station in Nairobi CBD before her untimely death.
