Authorities have arrested four individuals in connection with the recent death of Kasipul Member of Parliament, Charles Ong’ondo Were, who passed away last week in Nairobi.
According to a statement by the National Police Service (NPS), the suspects are believed to have links to organised criminal activities. Investigators also recovered key pieces of evidence that could help in building the case.
“Some of those arrested are suspected to be part of known criminal groups that have previously been associated with robberies in parts of Nairobi,” the NPS noted.
While the exact cause behind the incident is still under investigation, the police have urged the public and leaders to refrain from making assumptions, as this could affect the integrity of the inquiry.
The NPS also encouraged anyone with helpful information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigations.
